Acumatica does not publish a price list. It is sold through partners as a yearly subscription priced by edition, industry edition and monthly transaction tier, not by user. Partner figures put the entry Essentials edition at about $6,396 to $7,000 a year, Select at about $23,000, Prime at about $30,000, and most mid-sized companies at $25,000 or more a year. Implementation usually adds $25,000 to $150,000 in year one.
The part most buyers misread is the transaction tier. Acumatica does not count users on its consumption plans, it counts your busiest document type. According to Acumatica's own licensing guide, your monthly Commercial Transaction Volume is the single highest count among sales orders (any order type, quotes included), shipments, AR invoices, customer payments, purchase orders, purchase receipts, AP bills and AP payments. A distributor that enters 2,400 sales orders in its peak month buys a tier sized for 2,400, even if it only has eight people in the system. The figures below come from Acumatica's licensing guide and from published partner pricing pages, read in October 2026. Where sources disagree, we show the range.
Expect roughly $7,000 a year for a very small company on Essentials and $25,000 to $75,000 a year for a typical mid-sized distributor or manufacturer, before implementation. The price moves with three things: the edition (Essentials, Select, Prime or Enterprise), the industry edition (Manufacturing costs more than General Business or Distribution), and the transaction tier your busiest month falls into. Year one usually totals $50,000 to $150,000 once implementation is included.
Acumatica sells four product sizes. The starting prices below are from Milestone Technologies' published partner pricing, and the user and line limits are from Acumatica's licensing guide (April 2024). Starting prices assume the lowest transaction tier; every tier above it costs more.
| Edition | Starting price, General Business, Distribution, Construction, Services | Starting price, Manufacturing | Users | Max lines per transaction |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Essentials | About $7,000 a year (Cargas and ERP Research quote $6,396) | About $25,000 a year | 5 included, up to 10 named users | 1,000 |
| Select | About $23,000 a year | About $50,000 a year | Unlimited | 2,000 |
| Prime | About $30,000 a year | About $60,000 a year | Unlimited | 2,500 |
| Enterprise | Quote only | Quote only | Unlimited | 50,000 |
The lines-per-transaction limit is firm, not a guideline, and it applies to sales order detail lines. If customers send you purchase orders with several thousand lines, which happens with large retail and MRO accounts, check that limit before you settle on Essentials or Select.
A commercial transaction is one document of a counted type: a sales order of any order type, a shipment, an AR invoice, a customer payment, a purchase order, a purchase receipt, an AP bill or an AP payment. Your monthly volume is the highest single count among those types, not their sum. Acumatica's own example: 800 AR invoices, 700 customer payments, 400 AP invoices, 200 vendor payments and 500 sales orders in a month gives a volume of 800.
The guide lists 22 tiers, from S1 at 1,000 transactions a month up to P3 above 1 million:
| Tier band | Monthly commercial transactions |
|---|---|
| S1, S2, S3 | 1,000, 1,500, 2,000 |
| M1, M2, M3 | 3,000, 4,000, 5,000 |
| L1 to L4 | 7,500, 10,000, 15,000, 20,000 |
| X1 to X4 | 30,000, 50,000, 75,000, 100,000 |
| E1 to E5 | 150,000 to 500,000 |
| P1, P2, P3+ | 750,000, 1 million, above 1 million |
You stay compliant as long as your volume does not exceed the licensed tier in any three months of a trailing twelve. One spike is fine; a busy season that runs three months is not. Acumatica shows usage on its License Monitoring Console, so pull that report before every renewal.
Not on its standard consumption plans. Select, Prime and Enterprise allow unlimited users, and Essentials includes five named users with an upgrade to ten. Acumatica also offers a named-user model where you pay by active user instead, with 5, 10, 10 and 35 users included from Essentials up to Enterprise. Most mid-market buyers choose consumption pricing because adding warehouse and sales staff costs nothing extra.
Partner list prices are the floor. Research based on real quotes shows a wider spread, mostly from module choices, industry edition and transaction tier.
| Source | Annual subscription | Implementation | Other figures |
|---|---|---|---|
| ERP Research (2026) | From $6,396 for Essentials; $25,000 to $75,000 for 50 to 200 users; $150,000 to $300,000 or more at enterprise scale | $50,000 to $150,000 typical, $20,000 to $500,000 full range | First-year total $50,000 to $150,000 for small and midsize; support around 20 percent of license cost |
| Cargas (2026 guide) | $6,396 starting, General Business; $25,000 or more for most mid-sized firms | About $60,000 basic, up to $125,000 with customization | Essentials 1,000 monthly transactions, Enterprise 7,500 at its entry tier |
| Milestone Technologies | Essentials about $7,000, Select $23,000, Prime $30,000; Manufacturing $25,000, $50,000, $60,000 | 1.5 to 2 times first-year subscription; $25,000 to $50,000 small, $50,000 to $100,000 mid-market | Counts the highest transaction type in your busiest month |
| Protelo (October 2026) | $10,000 to $80,000 on average | $25,000 to $150,000 on average | Consultants $150 to $300 an hour; integrations $1,000 to $15,000 |
Plan for $25,000 to $150,000, and a common rule of thumb from partners is 1.5 to 2 times your first-year subscription. A small company on Essentials with clean data can land near the bottom of that range; a multi-site manufacturer converting years of history and building integrations will land at the top or above it. Partners bill implementation, not Acumatica, so the statement of work is where the money is decided.
Ask the partner to price data migration, training and each integration as separate lines. Integrations are where scope grows quietly. Acumatica's guide recommends a maximum of 3 integrations on Essentials, 5 on Select, 10 on Prime and 20 on Enterprise, and it caps Web API requests per minute by edition, so a plan with many API-connected tools can push you up an edition for reasons that have nothing to do with users.
Here is a worked example for a distributor on the Select edition of the Distribution industry edition, built only from the published figures above. Your quote will differ, but the shape is typical.
| Cost line | Low | High | Basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Subscription, Select, Distribution, entry tier | $23,000 | $35,000 | Milestone starting price to a higher transaction tier |
| Implementation and migration | $35,000 | $70,000 | 1.5 to 2 times first-year subscription |
| Integrations (ecommerce, shipping, tax) | $1,000 | $15,000 | Protelo per-integration range |
| Year one total | About $59,000 | About $120,000 | Before negotiation |
From year two, implementation falls away and the subscription is the main cost. That makes the transaction tier the number to manage, because every order you enter counts toward it.
Acumatica gives you Sales Orders (SO301000) and Purchase Orders, and it imports data through import scenarios that read Excel and CSV files. It does not read the PDF purchase orders your customers email you. On a distribution desk that means someone retypes part numbers, quantities, prices and ship-to addresses for every order, and every keying error becomes a wrong shipment or a credit memo.
PurchaseOrders reads the customer PO, PDF, scan or photo, and returns the header and every line as Excel, CSV or JSON in the one-row-per-line shape an import scenario loads. The Acumatica sales order import page shows the field mapping on SO301000 and the Order Nbr. setting that decides whether a file becomes one order or many. For supplier POs you key on the buying side, see purchase order to Acumatica.
One honest point about licensing: imported orders still count toward your Commercial Transaction Volume, exactly like typed ones. Automating capture changes the labor cost of each order, not the tier. Because the output is a file for an import scenario rather than a live API connection, it also does not use up one of your recommended integrations.
| PurchaseOrders plan | Monthly price | Pages a month | Fits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $49 | 2,500 (Base AI) | One order desk clearing daily customer POs |
| Plus | $149 | 10,000 (Base AI), bulk upload of 50 files | Several desks or a busy distribution branch |
| Pro | Priced by volume | 35,000 and up | High-volume order entry across locations |
Every plan starts with 25 free pages to test on your own purchase orders, and yearly billing halves the monthly rate. See PurchaseOrders pricing for the full plan list.
When the numbers are settled, most controllers still have to take them to the owners or the board. If your comparison lives in a spreadsheet and a few vendor PDFs, you can turn that report into a presentation deck instead of rebuilding the slides by hand.
For companies with many users, often yes, because Acumatica's consumption plans do not charge per user while NetSuite licenses each user on top of a base subscription. For a small team with a high order count the gap narrows, since Acumatica prices by transaction tier. Compare a quote for your real peak month on both, and see the Acumatica vs NetSuite purchase order comparison for how each handles orders.
Essentials, at about $6,396 to $7,000 a year for the General Business, Distribution, Construction and Professional Services editions. It includes five named users, can grow to ten, and is limited to 1,000 lines per transaction and the lower transaction tiers. Manufacturing Essentials starts higher, at about $25,000 a year.
Acumatica's current licensing guide describes two models: a SaaS Subscription, which it calls the most popular choice, and a Private Cloud Subscription where you or a partner host the software. Both are subscriptions. Some older customers hold perpetual licenses, but new buyers should expect a yearly subscription.
Take each counted document type for a month: sales orders, shipments, AR invoices, customer payments, purchase orders, purchase receipts, AP bills and AP payments. The highest single count is your Commercial Transaction Volume. You are out of compliance only if that volume exceeds your licensed tier in three or more months of a trailing twelve.
