Rossum pricing starts at $18,000 per year on the Starter plan, with a one year minimum contract and unlimited seats. Business, Enterprise and Ultimate are quote only. Rossum prices by the volume of pages or documents you process and the complexity of your workflows, and charges per additional page if you go over your plan. A 14 day free trial comes first.

That single published number tells you a lot about who Rossum is built for. This page sets out exactly what Rossum publishes on its own pricing page, read in October 2026, what each plan adds, what the entry price works out to per purchase order at different volumes, and where a published monthly page plan is the cheaper route for a team that only needs purchase order data. Every Rossum figure here comes from rossum.ai, the Rossum knowledge base or the Rossum and Coupa announcement. Where Rossum does not publish a number, we say so instead of guessing.

How much does Rossum cost?

Rossum costs at least $18,000 a year, which is $1,500 a month, for the Starter plan, and the contract runs for a minimum of one year. That is the only price Rossum publishes. Business, Enterprise and Ultimate are sold on a quote through a Get A Quote button. Rossum states that pricing is based on the volume of pages or documents you process and on the complexity of your workflows, and that additional services, integrations and add-ons are available on top. Seats are not the cost driver: Starter already includes unlimited seats.

Rossum pricing plans side by side

PlanPublished priceWhat it adds
StarterFrom $18,000 per yearUnlimited seats, email, API or manual upload ingestion, Rossum Aurora document AI, a validation screen for exceptions, 12 months of archive and search, API access
BusinessQuote onlyCustom business logic and workflows, master data matching, duplicate detection, an intelligent mailbox, custom functions and webhooks, workflow reporting, integrations with SAP, Coupa, Workday, Oracle and others
EnterpriseQuote onlySingle sign on, a sandbox, document translation, extended master data matching, preferred cloud location, onboarding and success plans, custom branding
UltimateQuote onlyMulti-document transactions, a custom domain for email ingestion, an embeddable interface, an additional sandbox, 3 years of archive and search

Read the table from the bottom up and the pattern is clear. The features that make Rossum attractive to a large accounts payable or procurement program, master data matching against your vendor and item lists, duplicate detection, ERP integrations and SSO, sit in Business and above. Starter is the extraction and validation core. So the realistic price for a team that wants extracted data to land in SAP, Oracle or Coupa is a Business quote, not the $18,000 floor.

How Rossum prices pages and documents

Rossum sizes a plan on volume. Its pricing page tells buyers to estimate the average number of pages their team processes each month, and says that if you exceed your plan limit you can upgrade to a higher volume plan or pay per additional page. What Rossum does not publish is the page allowance inside Starter or the per page overage rate. Those two numbers decide your real cost, so get both in writing from sales.

How pages are counted is documented in the Rossum knowledge base, and it is stricter than most buyers assume:

SituationHow Rossum bills it
A multi-page documentEvery page is billed, including pages with no captured data
A long documentBilling stops at the queue page limit, 32 pages by default
A duplicate fileBilled again, because duplicates still run through extraction
Re-extract or move to a queue with a higher limitBilled again at the new limit, on top of the pages already billed
A document split into twoNot billed twice, deleted pages are not counted
Attachments removed by your filtering rulesNot billed

For purchase orders this matters more than it looks. A PO with terms and conditions printed on the back can easily be three or four pages for one page of line items, and every one of those pages counts. A supplier who emails the same order twice costs you twice. Setting the queue page limit sensibly and filtering out terms pages and duplicate attachments before they reach extraction are the cheapest cost controls you have.

The one year minimum matters as much as the price. You commit to twelve months before you know how your document mix behaves in production. If your volume is seasonal or still growing, a plan sized on a good month can produce overage in a busy one, and a plan sized on a busy month carries unused capacity the rest of the year. It is worth putting the renewal date and notice period into whatever contract management software your finance team already uses, because an annual auto-renewal is easy to miss.

What Rossum costs per purchase order

Because Rossum does not publish its page allowance, the honest calculation is a floor: the Starter minimum divided by your monthly document count. Your real figure can only be equal or higher once overage, add-ons or a Business quote come in.

Purchase orders per monthRossum floor per monthFloor cost per PO
300$1,500$5.00
1,000$1,500$1.50
3,000$1,500$0.50
10,000$1,500 plus any overage$0.15 or more

The shape of that table is the point. At a few thousand documents a month the floor price spreads thin and Rossum becomes reasonable per document, especially when you also need the validation screen and master data matching. At a few hundred purchase orders a month, the same contract costs several dollars per order before anyone has looked at a line item, which is hard to justify when purchase orders are the only document you process.

Rossum pricing vs a per-page purchase order plan

PurchaseOrders prices differently: published monthly page plans, no annual minimum and no sales call. The figures below are from our own pricing page. Base AI is the faster model, Pro AI the more accurate one, and each plan includes a page allowance for both.

PlanMonthly priceBilled yearlyPages per month
Starter$49$24 a month, $288 a year2,500 Base AI or 500 Pro AI
Plus$149$74 a month, $888 a year10,000 Base AI or 2,000 Pro AI
ProFrom $499From $249 a month, $2,988 a year35,000 Base AI or 8,000 Pro AI, with API access
Rossum StarterFrom $1,500$18,000 a year minimumNot published

Take a distributor processing 1,000 two-page purchase orders a month, 2,000 pages in total. On Rossum that is at least $18,000 for the year. On PurchaseOrders it fits in Plus on Pro AI pages at $888 a year billed yearly, or Pro if you want the API, at $2,988 a year. The gap is large because the products are different, not because one is overpriced. Rossum is a full document automation platform. We read one document type and return the header and line items as Excel, CSV or JSON. If a page plan covers what you need, you are paying for less software.

What Rossum gives you that a PO extractor does not

Be fair to Rossum before choosing on price. It handles many document types, not only purchase orders. Its validation screen is built for a team of people clearing exceptions every day. Business adds master data matching, which checks extracted vendors and items against your own records, plus duplicate detection across channels and integrations with SAP, Coupa, Workday and Oracle. Enterprise adds SSO and a sandbox, and Rossum lists ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA and TX-RAMP. If you are automating an invoice and purchase order program across business units, that is what the price buys, and a page plan does not replace it.

Did the Coupa acquisition change Rossum pricing?

Not on the published page so far. Coupa announced on May 12, 2026 that it had acquired Rossum, after embedding Rossum document processing in its accounts payable product since 2024, and did not disclose terms. Rossum still sells standalone with the same Starter figure and quote-only higher tiers. If you are already a Coupa customer, ask whether Rossum capability is offered inside your Coupa contract before you sign a separate one, since that is the stated direction of the deal. If you are not on Coupa, ask how long current terms are guaranteed at renewal.

When Rossum is worth the price

Rossum makes sense when three things are true: you process thousands of documents a month across several types, you need people to validate exceptions in a shared queue, and you want the data matched and pushed into an ERP without building that yourself. A cheaper, narrower tool makes more sense when purchase orders are the main or only document, your volume is in the hundreds or low thousands, and your team already has a way to load a spreadsheet or JSON into the ERP. Our Rossum alternative for purchase orders page compares the two field by field, and the purchase order OCR software comparison covers the wider market.

How to get an accurate Rossum quote

Go into the sales call with last quarter’s numbers: documents per month by type, average pages per document, and the peak month. Then ask five questions. How many pages or documents does Starter include? What is the per page overage rate? Does a multi-page document count as one unit? Which of my integrations need Business or Enterprise? And what renewal increase is capped in the contract? With those answers you can compare Rossum to Nanonets pricing and to per-page plans on equal terms. Developers comparing API costs across vendors can use the purchase order OCR API pricing breakdown.

Rossum pricing questions

Is Rossum free?

Rossum is not free. It offers a 14 day free trial where you create an account and process your first documents. After the trial, the Starter plan starts at $18,000 per year with a one year minimum contract, and higher plans are quote only.

How much does Rossum cost per month?

Rossum does not sell monthly plans. The Starter plan starts at $18,000 per year, which works out to $1,500 a month, on a minimum one year contract. Business, Enterprise and Ultimate pricing is quoted based on page or document volume and workflow complexity.

How much does Rossum charge per page?

Rossum does not publish a per page price or the page allowance inside each plan. It does bill per page, not per document: every page counts, including empty ones, up to the queue limit of 32 pages by default, and duplicates and re-extractions are billed again.

Does Rossum have an API?

Yes. API access is included from the Starter plan, along with email and manual upload ingestion. Rossum also offers SFTP for upstream and downstream integration. Prebuilt integrations with SAP, Coupa, Workday and Oracle are listed under the Business plan.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Rossum for purchase orders?

For purchase orders only, a per-page plan usually costs far less. PurchaseOrders starts at $49 a month for 2,500 Base AI or 500 Pro AI pages with no annual contract. Rossum is the better fit for multi-document programs that need validation queues and master data matching.
