Fishbowl pricing starts at $229 a month, billed annually, for Fishbowl Inventory Essentials with 2 users included. Growth is $429 a month with 5 users and Scale is $729 a month with 10 users. Fishbowl Advanced, the manufacturing and warehouse product, starts at $595 a month for Warehouse and $675 a month for Manufacturing, and the final price is set by quote. Every purchase also requires a paid implementation package, and Fishbowl does not publish its price.

Those figures come from Fishbowl's own pricing page, read in October 2026. Third-party pricing sites disagree with each other about how to read them, and the gap is large enough to change a budget by thousands of dollars a year, so this page sticks to what Fishbowl publishes, works out the annual cost of each plan, and flags the parts no published number covers. If you are buying Fishbowl because your order desk is drowning in customer purchase orders, the last section prices that problem separately, because no Fishbowl plan solves it.
Fishbowl costs at least $2,748 a year for Fishbowl Inventory Essentials ($229 a month on annual billing, 2 users), $5,148 a year for Growth ($429 a month, 5 users) and $8,748 a year for Scale ($729 a month, 10 users). Fishbowl Advanced starts at $7,140 a year for Warehouse and $8,100 a year for Manufacturing at the published monthly starting rates, before the quote and the required onboarding.
There is no monthly-only billing option on the Inventory plans and no free trial. Fishbowl sells through a demo, and the Request Demo button is the only next step on the pricing page.
Fishbowl now sells two product lines. Fishbowl Inventory is the cloud product with three fixed plans. Fishbowl Advanced is the older, deeper product for manufacturing and warehouse operations, priced by users and deployment and confirmed by quote.
| Plan | Published price | Users included | Annual cost at list | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fishbowl Inventory Essentials | $229 a month, billed annually | 2 | $2,748 | Small team tracking stock next to QuickBooks Online or Xero |
| Fishbowl Inventory Growth | $429 a month, billed annually | 5 | $5,148 | Distributors that pick, pack and ship from several warehouses |
| Fishbowl Inventory Scale | $729 a month, billed annually | 10 | $8,748 | Regulated products that need lot tracing and audit trails |
| Fishbowl Advanced Warehouse | From $595 a month | Quoted, 2 to 200+ | From $7,140 | 3PL, multi-warehouse and EDI-driven distribution |
| Fishbowl Advanced Manufacturing | From $675 a month | Quoted, 2 to 200+ | From $8,100 | Manufacturers that need BOMs, MRP and work orders |
The annual column is simple arithmetic on the monthly figure. For the Advanced plans it is a floor, because Fishbowl says the final price is always confirmed by quote and depends on users and on whether you run it in Fishbowl's cloud or self-managed.
Essentials covers the basics: QuickBooks Online and Xero sync, real-time inventory and SKU tracking, reorder points and mobile barcode scanning. Growth adds pick, receive and ship fulfillment, automated reordering, multichannel ecommerce selling, sales tax automation, AI insights and unlimited warehouses, with demand forecasting available as an add-on. Scale includes demand forecasting and adds lot and forward or backward traceability, audit trails and advanced permissions, compliance documentation for GMP, FDA and ISO, and advanced reporting.
The footnote that matters most is printed under the plans: the Inventory plans do not include manufacturing. There are no bills of materials, work orders or MRP on Essentials, Growth or Scale. A shop that assembles kits or builds to order needs Fishbowl Advanced Manufacturing, which is the plan with BOMs, MRP, work orders, job, labor and landed costing, the deeper QuickBooks Online, Desktop and Enterprise integration and an open API. If the real bottleneck is scheduling the shop floor rather than counting stock, look at dedicated production scheduling software for small manufacturers before paying for a full manufacturing suite. Fishbowl Advanced Warehouse carries the distribution features instead: complex fulfillment and transfer orders, EDI integrations, tiered pricing rules and multi-warehouse and 3PL workflows.
Fishbowl's own page lists each Inventory plan as a monthly price that includes a set number of users: 2 on Essentials, 5 on Growth and 10 on Scale. It does not publish a price for extra users, and it does not say the monthly figure is per seat. That is the single biggest source of confusion in Fishbowl pricing.
Several pricing aggregators list the same figures as $229, $429 and $729 per user per month and build their calculators on that reading, which turns 5 users on Essentials into $13,740 a year. Other sites read the figures the way Fishbowl prints them, as plans with users included. On Growth with 5 users, the per-user reading gives $25,740 a year against $5,148 as printed, a $20,592 gap on a single line of the budget. Before you take any calculator at face value, ask the Fishbowl rep two questions in writing: is the published price per plan or per user, and what does each user above the included count cost.
Fishbowl requires an implementation package with every purchase and does not list its price. The package includes an implementation specialist, data migration (Fishbowl states it does not include history), a 6 to 8 week training certification and dedicated go-live support. Third-party sites quote estimates that range widely and disagree with each other, so treat any number you see as a guess until it is on a Fishbowl quote.
Plan the internal cost too. Six to eight weeks of training is time your warehouse and order desk spend in sessions, and data migration without history means open orders, item lists and stock counts move but past transactions stay in the old system. Keep read access to it for audits.
Take a wholesale distributor with 5 people in the system, two warehouses and orders shipping to retail customers. Essentials will not do the job, because pick, receive and ship fulfillment and unlimited warehouses start on Growth.
| Line | Year one | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Fishbowl Inventory Growth, 5 users | $5,148 | $429 a month, billed annually |
| Demand forecasting | Add-on, price not published | Included only on Scale |
| Implementation package | Required, price not published | Fishbowl pricing page |
| Extra ecommerce or marketplace connections | The compare table lists $50 a month on some plans | Fishbowl pricing page |
| Staff time for the 6 to 8 week certification | Internal cost | Fishbowl pricing page |
If the same distributor needs forecasting, Scale at $8,748 a year includes it and adds lot tracing, so compare the Growth add-on quote against the $3,600 a year step up to Scale. If it needs EDI with big-box retailers, that is a Fishbowl Advanced Warehouse conversation, starting at $7,140 a year before the quote.
Fishbowl is worth the cost for a QuickBooks or Xero business that has outgrown spreadsheet stock counts and needs real-time inventory, barcode scanning and multi-warehouse fulfillment without moving to a full ERP. At $5,148 a year for 5 users on Growth it sits well below the mid-market ERPs. For comparison, Sage 100 pricing and Acumatica pricing both start higher once licenses and a partner implementation are added, and both replace your accounting system rather than sitting next to it.
It is a weaker fit when manufacturing is the core of the business and the Inventory plans cannot do it, when you need EDI on day one, or when the real cost in the operation is not inventory at all but the hours spent turning customer orders into sales orders.
Most distributors that shop for Fishbowl are also fighting their inbox. Retail and wholesale customers send purchase orders as PDFs, and someone retypes every line into a sales order. Fishbowl imports sales orders from a CSV with its own column layout, which helps once the rows exist, but no Fishbowl plan reads a customer PDF. The Fishbowl EDI integration covers trading partners who send EDI. It does not help with the hundreds of smaller customers who email a PDF.
That step is priced separately. PurchaseOrders reads a customer purchase order PDF, scan or photo and returns the PO number, ship-to and every line as Excel, CSV or JSON, in the shape the Fishbowl sales order import expects once you match the columns. Plans start at $49 a month, about $588 a year, a fraction of any Fishbowl plan, and a morning backlog clears in one pass with bulk purchase order upload. The same output works for teams still on QuickBooks through the QuickBooks sales order import and for Sage 50 sales order import if the evaluation ends with staying on Sage. The full workflow is on sales order entry automation.
Go into the demo with your numbers written down: the number of people who need a login, warehouses, SKUs, monthly order volume, sales channels and whether you build anything. Then ask for these in writing:
No. Fishbowl's pricing page offers a demo, not a free trial. The Request Demo button is the route to pricing for Fishbowl Advanced and the way to confirm user counts and the implementation package for Fishbowl Inventory.
The Fishbowl Inventory plans are billed annually. The monthly figures of $229, $429 and $729 are the annual price divided by twelve, so the commitment is a year at a time. The Advanced plans list a monthly starting price with the term set by quote.
Not on the current pricing page. Fishbowl Inventory is a subscription billed annually, and Fishbowl Advanced is priced by users and deployment, cloud-hosted by default with self-managed options, and confirmed by quote. Plan on a recurring cost plus the one-time implementation package.
Yes. Every Fishbowl Inventory plan syncs with QuickBooks Online and Xero, and Fishbowl Advanced Manufacturing lists integration with QuickBooks Online, Desktop and Enterprise. Fishbowl runs inventory and orders while QuickBooks keeps the books.
